Ranjini and Kern have been working with small and marginal farmers since 2014, helping them pivot from the clutches of chemical farming and adopt sustainable farming systems.
Farmers from several villages in Kanchipuram and Thiruvanamalai have been converted to organic farming and they are in the process of obtaining certification.
In search of a solution to help improve the soil fertility, they ended up starting Carbon Loops, a new venture in 2017. The idea is convert biodegradable waste into Biogas and compost.
This will reduce waste being sent to the landfill as well as help small farmers.
